Michael Eshleman has been the Sandoval County Attorney since 2021 and was Otero County Attorney from 2017 to 2021. He is a board member for the New Mexico County Insurance Authority, the insurance pool for county governments. Eshleman has previously served as chairman of the County Attorney Affiliate of the New Mexico Association of Counties, chairman of the Alamogordo (N.M.) Public Library Advisory Board, a board member for the State Bar of New Mexico, and president of the Lea County (N.M.) Bar Association. Eshleman earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Cincinnati, a law degree from the University of Dayton, and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University. He has published law review articles on the legal digests, the Hague Service Convention, and the legal history of Pitcairn Island. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico and his native Ohio.
