Brenda Cabrera retired as the Director of Elections of the City of Fairfax after more than 35 years in election administration. She was instrumental in piloting Risk Limiting Audits for the Commonwealth of Virginia and played a key role in crafting the current audit legislation. She also served on the EAC Standards Board and as a Regional Director on the EAC Local Leadership Council. In 2019 she was elected to the Executive Board of the Voter Registrars Association of Virginia and served as the president of VRAV from 2021-2023. Since retiring, she has logged more than 25,571 miles traveling full time across the US in her motorhome and manages election-related consulting during her free time.
