Carly has served the Weld County Clerk and Recorder’s Office for more than twenty-two years, beginning her career in June 2004. While her primary focus has been the Elections Department, she has also contributed her expertise to the Recording and Motor Vehicle departments, giving her a comprehensive understanding of Clerk and Recorder operations.
She earned her Colorado Election Official Certification from the Colorado Secretary of State in 2007 and completed the national Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA) designation through the Election Center’s Professional Education Program at Auburn University in 2014. Carly is a 2016 graduate of the Leadership Program of the Rockies and received her Public Leadership Certification from Pepperdine University in 2019 through the International Association of Government Officials.
In 2022, Carly—along with the Colorado County Clerks Association—was honored with the Defender of Democracy Award from The Center for Election Innovation and Research. In 2023, she was appointed to the national Local Leadership Council of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and was elected Vice Chair in both 2023 and 2025.
Carly is the youngest person ever elected Weld County Clerk and Recorder. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Colorado County Clerks Association, previously served as its President in 2021, and will again serve as President in 2026.
